Non-surgical face lifting treatment

A non-surgical facelift utilises a combination of dermal fillers and dermal threads to reposition sagging skin and fat pads to create a lifted and more youthful appearance.

Thread lift treatment uses a number of filaments positioned at specific areas of the face to lift the eyebrows, sagging skin over the cheeks, reduce nasolabial and marionette lines, define the jawline, and reduce double chins. The threads are placed strategically just under the skin in the direction where lifting and skin tightening is required.

Dr Tracey uses a premium resorbable lifting thread, that is TGA approved. These threads work like scaffolding under the skin to lift sagging tissues and stimulate collagen to replace facial volume and hold back aging.

Thread lift therapy works in two ways. Firstly a lifting action for immediate yet discreet results. Then as the threads stimulate collagen under skin over a period of 2-6 months giving further lift and tightening to the skin.

+ Who is the treatment suitable for?

Thread lift procedures are not a replacement for a face lift, however they are a good option for patients with mild to moderate facial sagging.

+ What can I expect during my treatment?

After the initial appointment to assess and plan the procedure, the procedure time is 45-60 minutes. The skin is cleansed and prepped for the procedure. Dr Tracey will spend some time marking up the skin and planning where the threads will run. We will tape back your hair and pop a surgical drape around the face, and then we are set to go! Local anesthetic injections are administered to numb the skin and then the threads are inserted, locked in place and then tied off under the skin. Once the threads are inserted you will have a Healite treatment to reduced swelling and promote rapid recovery. You can also make use of our complementary, post thread lift Healite service (unlimited Healite for the first 2 weeks post treatment).

+ What can I expect after my treatment?

There will be some tightness, swelling and tenderness for a 3-7 days after the procedure. Severe bruising is uncommon, however there may be some minor bruising at the hairline. It is important to get rest, avoid alcohol and drink plenty of fluids to give your face time to settle.

+ How long does a thread lift last?

Around 12-24 months, though many patients report longer lasting lifts.

+ Is the procedure painful?

The procedure is well tolerated, with minimal discomfort. Local Anaesthetic is used to numb the skin and simple analgesia con be taken for any discomfort post procedure.
